Based on the concept of asemic writing, or “a wordless open semantic form of writing,” DEVOID evokes a sense of emptiness and a lack of emotion.
Programs used: Adobe Illustrator
With open and jaggedly organized spreads, the series aims to teach the reader about asemic writing, while also conveying emotion (or a lack thereof). When unfolded, the booklets become 4 unique posters, each with different designs and different levels of disarray. As a series, the booklets are packaged in a “glitched” box, utilizing the optical illusion of a magician’s trick box to make the booklets seem as though they are split into three.
